In 1991 the Fairview Bridge ,located in North Dakota 3.5 miles from Fairview Montana joint the National Register of historic bridges. Crossing the Missouri river this vertical lift structure had its lift raised only a single time during 1914 ,shortly after construction was finished in 1913. It has another claim to fame. Once a rail and vehicle bridge, now foot traffic only, leads into North Dakotas only tunnel.
