Deep tones in the dune set upon by the dropping sun. This shot is taken in Abu Dhabi, UAE, way down past Liwa. A hard hike through huge sand dunes takes me into a surreal world where all that exists, all that can be seen is sand and sky. At sunset the sand takes on such a variety of hues that it amazes me every time to do it.
Pentax 67II, 45mm lens. Velvia 50 film. Scanned using my Epson V700 through Photoshop.
Dedicated to those who carry the larger, heavier camera and work hard as they hike through inhospitable places to get that one lovely shot!

The older I get the more I love to take pictures. I think I should have done this all my life!
I love to see your pictures. Your talent inspires me!

Wow, that is great. A wonderful exposure.
Cheers, Andy. This is a Pentax 67 shot on Velvia. That’s a heavy thing to cart around the dunes but it does a great job!
