These glass panels are placed to provide a unique view of the surroundings on a building in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Immediately in front there is a dirty and scruffy car park with cars untidily placed. To the sides there are buildings of varying sizes and there is a tall building under construction in the background.
Some glass panels have been lost, probably to the elements of dust and sand storm and perhaps poor maintenance but these gaping holes add to the architectural abstract mystery that we see.
I set myself a challenge on this trip to Riyadh and brought only my trusty old Pentax *ist-D 6mp camera with a Sigma 28-300 zoom attached. These equipment challenges are a refreshing change from the usual doing what we know best with the gear we always use.
The day was ugly and the the sun invisible behind the curtain of dust that hung low and thick in the air. The glare from the dust was obscene which added to the challenge. I took up the challenge by taking the shots in Pentax RAW, then importing them into PSCS for post processing. Here is the result. I love the unusual architectural abstract that is left.
