I’m a mom of 2 teenage boys and a 5 year old little girl. I’m most in Heaven when I am with my kids and my animals (I have 3 dogs and 2 cats). I’m a mainframe programmer by trade and a Weekend Artist. I’ve been drawing and painting off and on as long as I can remember.

I work in acrylic paints for my larger abstracts — the motion of just spreading the paint around is so freeing. I’ve been learning more and more how to work with pastels. The oil pastels seem to allow me to blend the colors more like the acrylic paint does.

When I get lost in a new painting, it’s like taking a vacation without having ever physically left the room. What a great escape — which even moms “in heaven” need every now and again.
