    Beautiful…..

  • thanks sheryl,
on this little ride we were serenaded by a tribe of boat people who sang a cappella from their little boat as we passsed them, also, at one point, about 5oo feet above the water we say burial grounds carved out of the stone mountain as slots where bodies were lowered from the top and inserted. amazing stuff!

THis isn’t where the dam is going to be is it? If it is – DAMN! THey ought to be ashamed of themselves.

  • well shulie, we were there after they had flooded it and caused over 2 million people to be evacuated to new places and new lives after generations living on the banks. The dam has not been a huge success so far, lots of problems meeting expectations.

Wow… What great memories you are getting to make and experience. I would love to visit far away places and see how other people live and see the beauty of where they live. Fascinating.

  • we have been most fortunate, sheryl, to have the time and resources to do that, and it is quite uplifting and humbling at the same time. One realizes how fortunate we are with what we were born into and how our lives are. And you learn an awful lot! I wish history had been this interesting in school!
