Throughout our visit to India, whether it be in large cities or hamlets, the ever present beggar was a common sight, lots of children and adults, too.

Just a retired old guy who loves looking for an eclectic mix of subjects to photograph, from people, to places, to concepts, and enjoys all aspects of the hunt, the find, and the shot, plus dabbling in the post production.

Nice capture, Phil. Among the several images you have taken of the poor and ‘beggers’, this person seems quite clean, above average in appearance of health and well clothed. Must be more of an occupation than a station in life??? Nice ‘study’. :-)

like you, there were times it just didn’t compute to see someone like her begging. Our local guides reminded us that there are many castes, and other than than top couple, the rest are in poverty and need to beg, yet can be clean and neat in appearance. The “untouchables”, at the bottom of the totem, look pretty bad.
