On a side street in new Delhi, India, this snake charmer tooted into his pipe and, sure enough, two cobras began rising up and out of the basket and stayed swaying back and forth while he played away.

Just a retired old guy who loves looking for an eclectic mix of subjects to photograph, from people, to places, to concepts, and enjoys all aspects of the hunt, the find, and the shot, plus dabbling in the post production.

Wonderful image, Phil – I saw snake charmers in Marakesh – it is amazing to watch them

  • What a job to have. I kept asking" do they have working fangs" before I put one around my neck!

Oh, yes! What would a trip to India be without a pic of a snake charmer? Good shot! :-)
    PS.. You have Bubblemail

  • Thanks Peter for that. I have a neat shot, using your suggested approach to portraits coming. I have looked at the bublemail but was between trips and have saved itto play with when I return on Wednesday,

You know, I’ll bet it was! Thanks so much for sharing, I would love to see something like. After all it’s not like you were just observing from some circus fair in the states, this is real stuff! I don’t know anything about rising of cobras, but to have captured images from the country from which this sort of thing originates. That is truly a gift to see, and great memory for you to have I am sure.

  • All true and a great part of the joy of traveling and capturing what other places and people are like. Thanks hanie
