In Northern Thailand, near Chiang Mai, there are a number of elephant training facilities where the animals are taught to do heavy work of lifting and moving. The animals are treated with respect and care. This sculpture raises the beasts to a place of honor.

Just a retired old guy who loves looking for an eclectic mix of subjects to photograph, from people, to places, to concepts, and enjoys all aspects of the hunt, the find, and the shot, plus dabbling in the post production.

    Awesome find and capture Phil!

  • thanks much mike,
When we visited the training camp it was pretty clear how much the Thai have invested in these animals to help them with heavy lifting. Didn’t see many backhoes
