Walking in and among the tiers of the coloseum one can hear the roar of the 50,000 Romans who sat in this very place to cheer their heroes on. Whether it was gladiator against gladiator, warrior against wild beast, or even an enactment of a naval battle, this impressive stadium stands today, centuries after the Fall of The Roman Empire!

The very thought that a place like this still stands and in fairly good shape , given the centuries that have passed is truly awesome! Walking around gave rise to goose bumps, all the movies we’ve seen filmed with this place as the backdrop! Thanks for looking!

another fine capture – we visited the same site a couple of years ago, and found it quite a challenge to avoid the tour groups, workmen, platforms and the like, and just try to capture the spirit of the place – but you’ve cracked it (did you sneak in when it was closed??) great shot
