On a visit to a home in Puno, Peru, on the shores of Lake Titicaca, we discovered a very basic existence, stone wall, open hearth fire, no running water or electricity, and this home made ladder for use in reaching items stored up out of reach.

No television or cell phones, either? It would be such a cultural shock for the inhabitants to visit New York City. It is good to be reminded of such things and appreciate what we have! Nice pic, Phil. :-)
petepretty basic life style…open hearth fire, little holes in the wall with candles for nighttime, two humongous plows for a man to work (no beast of burden), some cheap tin cups and voila!
