This tree stood all alone on an outcropping in Kenya, Africa. Full of green leaves and healthy, it was one of few still standing that elephants hadn’t pulled down to devour the greenery

    I reason that with a big hillside of tree nearby there may be other reasons for their collective survival. Could the ground be too rocky for their tender padded toes? :-)

    Hard to say…certainly it’s more work to get to…we saw an elephant “stranded” on a rockier outcrop than this one because of the sharpness and screwy angles of the protruding stones…

    It’s amazing that any trees live to any age. Perhaps the elephants should learn a bit about conservation and global warming!!! Nice picture – good angle.
