Artist's Description

This Masai village, called a Manyatta, was in the Masai Mara in Kenya, Africa. The center most part of the enclosure is for their cattle and livestock at night. Then a ring of mud huts (enkangs) is in the next circle, with fencing made from thorn bushes surrounding the compound. (One reason for the red is that they can be seen more easily at greater distances…as here)
