Rumbling Along by phil decocco
Clear

This large elephant seemed to appear out of no where as we approached this spot in Arusha, Lake Manyara National Park,Tanzania, Africa.. It very quickly began thundering away from us, in a big hurry!

Just a retired old guy who loves looking for an eclectic mix of subjects to photograph, from people, to places, to concepts, and enjoys all aspects of the hunt, the find, and the shot, plus dabbling in the post production.

Glad it decided to run that direction! Elephants are such awesome creatures – great catch, Phil!

Quite the tattered ears! A little shorter and it could be confused with an Indian elephant. Big fella. :-)

lots of similarities for sure, although the Asian beasts don’t sport tusks quite this large. Big incisors!

A moment not to be forgotten. Great natural shot Phil, what lens were you using…Jules

this was the first one we saw and it burst through those trees and scared us a bit at first. My old trusty 28-300mm was at work that day…a reliable lens. He was also fairly close so it wasn’t a longer range focal length, about 200mm
