At the Mount Kenya Safari Club, at the 7,000 ft base of the mountain, the equator runs directly through the property, and as a welcoming celebration, guests are greeted one by one, or as couples, to prance down a red carpet to the rhythm of Masai drums played by locals in native dress. These two fellows looked a bit bored between performances.

Just a retired old guy who loves looking for an eclectic mix of subjects to photograph, from people, to places, to concepts, and enjoys all aspects of the hunt, the find, and the shot, plus dabbling in the post production.

They’re not looking too friendly, either – but I’ll bet they could do a bang-up job on those giant drums!

like in show biz, they came alive with big smiles and a happy sense to the ceremony!
