One morning just before dawn, we traveled about an hour plus from Cairns to Mareeba, Australia to the Atherton Tableland in Far North Queensland for an exciting adventure in a hot air balloon.
Mareeba is an aboriginal word for “meeting of the waters”, since it is where the Barron River, and the Granite and Emerald Creeks come together.
These balloons slowly filled with hot air and lifter off the cold, damp ground, forming their shapes to become air borne. The next couple of hours gliding across the majestic country side below was amazing!

So, are you ‘hooked’ on balooning? Sounds like a lot of fun. I presume to you took a few hundred pics. Looking forward to seeing them. :-)

our first time up in one and it was exhilarating in every way. Great views, sunrise, lots of things to see from on high. Really fun! Each basket held eighteen folks, which surprised me a little, but off we went…
