In a most dramatic presentation, augmented by lighting, St. Peter’s Cathedral in Regensberg, Germany, has a work of the crucifixion that is very compelling.

crucifixion, rood, st peters cathedral, regesberg, germany, statue, christs crucifixion, sacred image

Wow Phil…so good…the sort of crucifixion I was looking for, for my picture “The legend of the Crosbill” As I couldn’t find any epurated cross,I used my own made plaster cross.
Gilberte,
never too late to enhance !! Fell free to use this one if you decide to re-do!

Very interesting shot…; just LOVE seeing the shadows…which seems to be echoing the actual form. ; -)
Never went past a single church in all of my entire life; without stopping to go check out what their ‘christ on the cross’ looks like…; be it in the form of drawing/painting/sculpture/stain glass/-etc.
