In 19 B.C. pure water was discovered at the three roads (Tre Vie), and an aquaduct was built bringing the water into Rome, some 20 kilometers away. The fountain has a rich history of change, destruction, rebuilding until today …...perhaps the most beautiful fountain in Rome. Each day some 3,000 euros are tossed into the fountain in hopes of returning to Rome (collected each evening).

    Nice photo of the Trevi. Our favorite hotel is directly across from the fountain. A bit noisy, but hey look at that view!
