This Bandstand, which has recently undergone renovation, is located on the seafront (close to the West Pier) in Brighton, England.
It was designed by Philip Lockwood and was completed in 1884.
Unfortunately, it went into decline in the 1970’s but has now been
carefully restored to it’s former glory and is designated as a Grade 11 listed building.
Full completion of this and the surrounding gardens will be this
summer.

Beautiful shot! This would be great for my Faded Seaside Glamour group if you’d like to submit it!
I managed to sneek this shot through the surrounding wire fence as I wanted to get an unobstructed shot and I’ll take up your suggestion & submit the image.
Thanks…Paul.
It is indeed a wonderful shot! great work! and restorative effort, it’s a shame they could not have given such attention to the West pier huh! and at 850k this bandstand should have gold leaf ;-)
I quite agree…let’s hope they make good use of it to quickly recoup the expense.
Speaking of the West Pier…wouldn’t it look great with coloured underwater flood lights?
Oh! Thanks for your comments.
OMG ~ Now that is a great suggestion, could you imagine how beautiful it would look at night, quite sublime I would think!!!
I thought you’d like the idea. If you imagine when the i360 tower goes up…you’d have the old & the new complimenting each other…it would look spectacular!

Thank you! They really have done a good restoration job and I look forward to seeing it open…shouldn’t be long now.
