A STREET PHOTOGRAPHER / ARTIST

Hello and welcome to my work…ok a little about self ….well, I’m originally from Edinburgh Scotland, born into a working a class culture, so to begin with observed my life through a very grainy lens!

This is where I think I acquired my sensitivity for an emotional intelligence, an innate ability to read most people and identify with them ; a sort of empathic cohesive harmony , this is with most of the people I meet or more importantly gravitate towards, it’s innate I just love people.

So with that my fascination with photography began as I can remember as a small child, whilst browsing picture books comics and magazines long before I could read the content.
So then I suppose the photograph for me was my first tangible window to the immense wide world we all share.
So yes an informal education it most certainly was for me and still is, I love photographs.

So with that, I began taking my own photographs like most people do, just for the recording of special events and or for personal keep sakes , time put on hold, and, for that preservation of evidence of sweet sweet joy, excitement beauty, pain, sorrow, and of course to capture those beginnings and endings.

We are all the observers of our moments. I will capture, the here and now, and freeze it so as it can be examined years from now and brought to the observer as it was then.

I don’t do too much technology and I certainly don’t have a problem with it, I like to shoot from the hip with my cannon G10 and use the scene and subject as much as I can ,also have a Sony alpha 700 AND Nikon D200 SLR and I’m always drooling at the idea of getting new glass .
