    Good….

  • Thanks, ‘line’ always very deeply fascinated me; especially seeing the lines of the ‘female nude’; but, also, cars/areoplanes/-etc. I really love looking at the miracle of wonderful design.

    Good work

  • Thanks! ;-) Getting line right to describe the ‘female nude’/or, even the ‘male nude’ is extremely difficult when like me you don’t fully understand where all of the underlying muscles/bones go; this basically means I have to guess from beginning to end…?

    Beautiful composition

  • Thanks! ;-) I think, I was influenced by the works of people like Audbrey Beardsley/and, Marquis Von Baros/Henry Fuselli/even, Blake/-etc.; all great line artists. The fact is that ‘line art’ I find to be very interesting, indeed; because you never ever seem to run out of new possibilities to go and create…?! Only trouble is, I need to work on expanding my interests a lot more if my art work is ever going to improve; I need to study anatomy: bones/muscles/organs; and, also, perspective/shading: tones/light/dark/proper perspective/colour/-etc. I always feel like being nothing more than a mere ‘beginner’ artist; especially, when I think about all there is still to go and learn. But, being really lazy, I tend to prefer working really fast; by outputting very simple ‘line art’, instead.

Excellent concept Paul! beautiful contours…. superb how you keep the eyes focused on the curves by the darkness on the right!

  • Thanks! ;-) I always loved seeing line; for me, line is exciting; the lines of a female body/or, of a horse/or, a bird/even of buildings/or, clouds/-etc.; to me, these things are all well worth capturing.

In particular, I recall when I was still in my youth, I joined an arts based book club, BCA-Book Club Associates, I think, they were called. Anyway, I went and brought a book from them, once, called: The Erotic Arts by Peter Webb; I’m not sure if it’s out of publication, now, though. In there I was introduced to erotic drawings/paintings/sculpture from all over the world…discovering that many ‘famous’ artist did also produce ‘erotic’ works…though, they might not be very well known for having done so; these art works ranged from both ‘ancient to modern; including ancient Greek art/and, even work by Picasso. In particular, I remember seeing incredible ’line work’ work by Audbrey Beardsley; and, also, Henry Fuselli, who seemed to have a hair fetish; too, Utamaro/Hokusai/-etc.

That book still haunts me continually even, right now. I think, it led me to collect other books which are related to Erotic art. In fact, I remember recently reading somewhere that Picasso had said, something like…“if it’s chaste then it’s NOT art!”
