Artist's Description

DATE: Wednesday 24th April 2013 03:30 PM GMT
MEDIUM: Blue biro pen/A5 sketchbook, white paper
DESCRIPTION: Self-portrait . Unfortunately, I forgot the exact date, today…; and, therefore, signed this quite wrongly the 25th; instead, of the 24th! ;-)

SELF-PORTRAIT TECHNIQUE

In regards to my self-portraits. I’m not very happy with any of them, yet! To me, they all look to be exactly the same; displaying the same techniques, again and again. How I long to move onto creating something entirely ‘new’/different…; and, far less boring?!

However, maybe, I’ve chosen to stay with this particular technique; until when I can get, at least, ‘one’ right! Then, it will be time to move on…

TUESDAY MORNING LIFE DRAWING CLASS, CANCELLED/TRANSFERRED TO ‘INTERMEDIATE’ DRAWING/PAINTING, INSTEAD, ON MONDAYS

Yesterday, Tuesday, I went to my Life Drawing class at Lambeth College/Brixton Centre.

Only trouble was…

No 1, I got there ‘late’, as usual; even though I’d promised the teacher I would get there early; me wake up at 10AM is far too early, I’m afraid!

No 2, I discovered…much to my deepest disappointment!…that the teacher, Stephen Nicholas, had decided to cancel the class; because he said only 1 student had turned up…along with me, now, making 2 students; and, he needed a minimum of 10 students to show up.

Thus, he transferred me to ‘intermediate drawing/painting’ on Mondays 10-12PM; which I was still happy to accept.

TUESDAY EVENING, BEGINNERS DRAWING/PAINTING, CLASS

Yesterday, I also attended the evening class at the same Lambeth College/Brixton Center; also, with Stephen Nicholas as being the teacher; this is ‘drawing/painting for beginners’/7PM-9PM.

The theme was a mixture of both ‘music/colour’; which you were free to interpret anyway you pleased. I wrote down some ideas; and, also, did a few sketches; copied a photo of a lady playing a violin onto A4 using a black biro pen.

However, unfortunately, as I placed these sketches rather carelessly inside of my trouser pocket; they must have fallen out of my pocket whilst I was in the process of riding my bike hurrying along to get back home. Anyway, no big deal, I’ll happily start again going from total scratch.
