Artist's Description

DATE: Thursday 11th April 2013
MEDIUM: White A5 sketchbook/black biro pen
DESCRIPTION: As a yearly paid up member of the Tate Gallery in London; I have a pass which allows me to get into The Reading Room/The Members Room/and, also, go and see exhibitions for FREE.

I went and visited seeing the Tate Gallery; studied some Picasso books inside of The Reading Room; then, when that particular library section had closed at 5PM; I went off to see the Kurt Schwitter’s exhibition until 6PM; when the whole gallery closed.

Afterwards, I decided to ride my bike through St James Park, Buckingham Palace. Outside of the gates of Buckingham Palace is where I saw this sculpture…lady standing with a scythe in her hand; amongst many other sculptures there, too. The other copies I made, I judged to be far less successful; therefore, this is the only ‘one’ I chose to go upload. In actual fact, there was a lion standing next to this woman; being shown on the other side right behind her; I chose to deliberately ignore the lion statue; and, just draw the woman standing alone; because, earlier, I had already drawn the lion on its own.

NOTE: The date on this drawing says 10/but, that’s wrong…it should have said 11; unfortunately, my mind got a little bit confused…?!
