MEDIUM: White A5 sketchpad/Black Ink Pen
DESCRIPTION: Copied internet photo/frozen video frame.
I brought some ‘new’ pens…sort of rollerball; with very fluid and smooth liquid movement; so, quite naturally, I decided to experiment.
Here I wanted to balance out both the drawing & white space. However, I’m not happy with either the mouth/nose bits; went in far too dark with the nose hole/couldn’t quite get the angle of the mouth right?!
My ultimate aim is to be able to fully ‘master’ the human body; meaning to be able to draw each part…head/ear/trunk/back/posterior/groin/arm/hand/fingers/leg/foot/toes…when being seen from any possible angle; and, for that practice I will use absolutely anything…including plastic skeleton/museum statues/anatomy books/internet/life drawing class/also, drawings done purely from ‘imagination’, alone…the ‘imagination’ drawings prove exactly how much you either know form/or, not…?! By, quite clearly, showing you how much you can recall. Imaginative drawings also allow you to exaggerate form more…by making parts either longer/shorter/-etc.
