MEDIUM: Digital drawing using mouse/laptop touchpad/1 finger; and, computer program: The Scribbler
DESCRIPTION: I just awoke almost around midday; and, decided to do a spot of drawing in bed; so I reached out for my laptop at my side; and, found The Scribbler program still open inside of Google Chrome web browser from yesterday.
FIRST DRAWING OF THE DAY: HAND
First, I practised drawing a hand with fingers bending inwards towards the palm; however, through my not being fully wide awake, yet; I went and hit option: Clear/instead, of Save!
SECOND DRAWING OF THE DAY: FEMALE NUDE
Decided to try, again; initially, I thought I was going to draw another hand; but, somehow, the drawing, all of a sudden, went and transformed itself into being the back of a nude body; I continued following through from there; just like putting together a jig saw puzzle; where this part is connected to that part/etc.
USING THE SCRIBBLER PROGRAM IS ALWAYS FUN ;-)
My conclusion is The Scribbler program is GREAT fun to be able to practice drawing with. I can easily see myself working away at this for endless hours and hours; that is, until whenever I get totally fed up; and, wish to try using an entirely different sort of drawing medium, instead.
MOUSE DRAWN/OR, FINGER DRAWN/OR, A BIT OF BOTH…???
Believe it or not; but, I didn’t actually use the mouse to draw with; but, instead, I’m using my Fujitsu Laptop computer ‘touchpad’; which means I’m basically using my index finger to go draw with; and, it’s my index finger which is used to control and move around the mouse pointer on screen; and, then, each line gets drawn wherever that mouse pointer is made to go.
HERE’S A FEW TIPS ON USING THE SCRIBBLER PROGRAM
If you wish to rub out anything; then, there is only just 1 level of Undo.
However, it’s also possible to change the drawing tool colour to become white…just like the background is; and, then, you can use your mouse as being an eraser.
In order to sign it; I changed the drawing tool size from 50 down to become 10.
SAVE/DOWNLOAD/RESIZE/UPLOAD THE WORK INTO REDBUBBLE
NOTE: The Scribbler program saves work with no proper filename extension; but, instead, saves it as being type: All files; which actually means there is no filename extension; this makes it impossible to open whenever you click on it; because Windows can’t even recognize the unknown file type?!
In order to make sure it’s been saved as being a picture type of file; I have to remember to save it not as being just merely…
…but, instead, make sure to add the [.jpg] extension after the filename…
…then, when you right click on the file you just downloaded/saved; you can choose from the drop down list menu that appears option: Edit; which will open it up inside of Windows MS Paint program ready for further editing.
Next, I use Windows MS Paint option: CTRL+W…to re-size the drawing to become 500×500. Now, I’m finally ready to go upload into RedBubble; which demands very large work.
BEEN AN AWFULLY LONG LONG TIME SINCE I EVER TRIED PRACTICING DOING ANY NUDE DRAWINGS
As I executed the drawing above; I began to realise that it’s been a very long time since I practised doing any ‘nude drawings’. I stopped going to Life Drawing classes, maybe, something like 6 months back; due to basically being flat broke!
As I drew, I realised that putting the human jigsaw puzzle together; being done purely from imagination, alone; wasn’t altogether quick, simple, or, easy; I really had to stop and think what goes where, next?!
I guess, I will need to do a hell of a lot more drawing of ‘the nude’ with the ultimate aim of being able to draw it from any position; without needing to keep on thinking so hard about exactly what goes where…??? In order for my nude work to go well; it has to be drawn perfectly relaxed and fluid.
