Paul Ramnora's art - Theme: The Kiss

Paul Ramnora's art - Theme: The Kiss

I believe that nearly every artist has certain regular favourite themes; which tends to very deeply haunt them; consequently, they tend to return to drawing/painting this same theme over, again and again.

One of my most favourite regular themes to draw/paint is, ‘The Kiss’. I have drawn, quite literally, 100’s of these over time.

This calender (which is my very first RedBubble calender) is basically a collection of a few of my very latest, ‘The Kiss’, themed drawings having been placed together.

Another thing connecting them is that they were all drawn on the computer by using the mouse inside of Windows MS Paint program.

    Thanks! ;)

Me, a genius? No, only in my very wildest dreams…ha! More of a total ‘amateur’ who is still struggling hard to learn how to draw form(s) properly???!!!

Certainly, I’m not the first one to ever think of it. In reality, I’m sure, there must be tons of kiss themed artworks out there. Straight away, I can think of Rodin’s famous sculpture called, The Kiss. And, also, I’ve seen The Kiss in many other artists work, as well; such as Gustav Klimt, Picasso, -etc.

I guess, if I have done any form of innovation here; then, it’s to focus almost solely and exclusively on the theme of, The Kiss, alone.

My real reason for doing that, though; was simply in order to understand how to draw heads better; by being allowed to practice drawing heads from all sorts of different angles. So, to me, really it’s nothing more than merely another drawing exercise; namely, what does the head look like being seen from the front/side/back/above/below/diagonally/-etc.

I guess, The Kiss, is also a very pleasant theme. One that joins humanity together; as opposed to say the theme of, War, which tends to show us as being all divided up. In other words, it’s a kind of very friendly people pleasing type of theme.
