Victor Harbor Dawn

Victor Harbor Dawn

I got up early on Friday morning during my recent trip to South Australia. I was staying in Goolwa, only a couple of minutes drive from Victor Harbor, so I headed down there for some dawn photography.. very pleased with the results.

Canon EOS 30D
EF-S 10-22
ND8Grad
ND400

16mm, 82 seconds @ f10, ISO100

No photoshop other than leveling the horizon. All colours are real and achieved by changing the white balance in the camera.

    Hello Paul,
This is just fabulous. Victor is one of my favorite places on earth. Used to visit my grandmother there all the time. Now she has passed away—no more visits. Can I please ask where you actually took this photo. Doesn’t look familiar, but it is great
    Regards
    Maryanne

  • Paul Pichugin replied

2 of my great-aunties and a great-uncle all live in Goolwa, so it’s a great place for me to visit :-)

This was taken at the eastern end of Victor Harbor, on the beach before the old railway bridge heading out of Victor towards Goolwa.. most people don’t recognise it.. even locals.. lol

    mmvery calm water that morning.

  • Paul Pichugin replied 23 days ago

No, there were a lot of waves that morning, I’ve done a long exposure to smooth out the water and to exaggerate the colours.
