“The dramatic, four-hundred-year-old, listed, Grade II ruins of Slaugham Place, West Sussex, a great Elizabethan manor house, have been restored under the supervision of English Heritage.
The ancient ruins of Slaugham Place are surrounded by twelve acres of grounds including formal gardens, bridges, a river and wonderful old trees. Encircled by the original Elizabethan walls; the ruins and moat are floodlit at night. The great spaciousness, the peace and beauty of the setting, the nobility of the ruins and the sense of past glory are truly memorable.”
