"Bamboo Rafting to Shangri La" Watercolor by

The sightseeing is spectacular along the Youlong River near Yangshou, China. The color and detail in this Paul Jackson watercolor really does capture the feel of life in this southern Chinese area, noted for rock climbing, spelunking and, of course, it’s natural beauty. The painting is one of a series by the artist from a 2008 trip to China.

I like the contrast between the bold, detailed, figures and junks in the foreground, with the faint mountainous background.
    Superb watercolour work, Paul!
