Oil on Canvas size 75 × 55cm.

These boys, belonging to the Surma Tribe, live in a remote village in south eastern Ethiopia. The tribe is famous for their ferocious stick fighting resulting in many scars!

This painting was exhibited at the Noosa Regional Gallery, Sunshine Coast, Australia….part of an exhibition titled ‘Africa – Face to Face’ which featured my paintings along with photographs by my friend Bob Nelson.

I live, therefore I paint, and I’ll paint as long as I live!

I paint every single day if I possibly can….. I mean to use up all my paints so that I don’t go to my grave with my paintings still inside me!
