The town of Ironbridge got its name from being the site of the first bridge in the world to be made from cast iron.
The bridge which was finished in 1779 crosses the river Severn and has been constructed and assembled using woodworking techniques such as Dovetail joints and pegs, there are no rivets in the bridge at all!
Now a World Heritage site, Ironbridge Gorge near Telford, Shropshire, UK is a highly popular visitor attraction.
