‘The George Inn’ at the National Trust village of Lacock in Wiltshire.
This public house dates back to the 14th Century and contains the famous ‘Dog Wheel’ – a dog-powered turnspit!

Is that a face at the upstairs window??

Love this, so atmospheric – a bit scary though, not sure I could be tempted to take a drink here!!

  • I’m sorry it’s come across as being scary Tessa! It’s really a very cosy pub in a beautiful village.

I would suggest that there have been some devious moves made in this pub over the years with a few jugs of ale on the table excellent take Paul

  • I’ve certainly supped more than a few ales in there Dave!

love this what an atmosphere you have captured

  • Thank you.
As I was using a film camera, getting the exposure right was more luck than judgement as there are very few lights in this village, but I’m pleased to say the result was as I had intended!

Great shot, the lights really illuminate the pub

  • Thank you. There is very little light in this village – this is because it is owned by the National Trust, an there’s very strict regulation on modern additions to buildings, which is fine, but it makes looking at your camera settings a bit difficult!
