Jennie
My daughter is studying theatre and performance at college and wanted a portrait of herself for possible use in college material.
As I needed some portrait practice, and she wanted some ‘theatre style’ shots…...here’s the result!
As usual, I’d appreciate comments and suggestions for improvement.

Great portrait, very natural looking. If your looking to add more depth of field the Nikon 50mm F1.4 is fab for that.

Thanks. I’m not sure the funds can run to the f1.4, but the f1.8 is a possibility.

It is a lovely portrait quite natural , it doesn’t look to staged. Pretty girl too.
Paul Woloschuk replied
Thank you Irene.

Beautiful tonality.

Beautiful shot Paul, warm rich skin tones and perfect lighting, personally I don’t think you need any more DOF but that’s just me
Paul Woloschuk replied
Thanks very much.
I’d like to take more portraits, but I get nervous when photographing a person – landscapes don’t need conversation!
I must have another attempt though.

I’m the same way Paul, i have dipped my toe into taking people pics but i am so used to taking pics of buildings (because of my profession) that anything that moves tends to seem a little too hard for me. This really is a beautful shot though, you should be very proud (and your daughter should be proud fo you too)

Thank you. Yes, she is very pretty, but she sometimes needs reminding of that fact!
