SELF PORTRAIT at 24
Ish. I don’t know. Somewhere around there…
Paul’s guide to weeping on public transport
-Board public transport
-Slowly become aware that said transport is proceeding in the wrong direction, indeed in the opposite direction to your home. This should happen well in into the journey.
-Lose all track of where you are (particularly in relation to home/loved ones. “Loved ones” inclusive of goldfish and shoes.)
-Take stock of finances, also continued validity of tcket/pass. When assured of insolvency and imminent ticket expiry, go to next step.
-Commence breathing difficulties.
-Become highly agitated.
-Alarm and terrify elderly and children in vicinity via such agitation, to preculde possible aid in reaching sanctuary.
-Become frightened.
-
- ...
-Despair.
-Commence weeping
This will not actually help in any way.
- I don’t know if folks will be able to tell in the print. But yeh; there is supposed to be a straight-razor in my hand.

You have captured a “life” image. A courageous and powerful work

Damn. I remember when I was in early recovery from being a totally fucked up addict. My brain was so fried, I used to get on a bus without checking where it was going. I just assumed it knew where i wanted to go. I got to see some interesting places, and even, sometimes, got where I was supposed to be. I think some people live their life like that. x Brave work Paul.

Hey Paul,
Love the depth of feeling you possess. Your art is such an inspiration to me and I believe so many on redbubble. You really inspire people to become aware to what is important in my opinion.

paul i never know which way to take you! perhaps you are an enigma! humorous and tragic all at once!...reading the description made nme laugh (sorry if this offends you or anybody reading this comment – I assure you i am not being callous)...then I thought you may be serious of course and realised that this must be sad also….i thought the object in your right hand was a shotgun.
I hope that the sentiments are not current….and i love the way you sketched this – brilliant work!

hmmm..public transportation..i just finished a short story called ‘the bus ride home’.
the ‘highly agitated’ part comes pretty naturally. :)
