Cathedral (st Denise)
exploding beard combs.
for the hippy whose hypocrisy drove me wild the other day.
not that i imagine he combs that thing. yurgh…
yeah i know… that was random.
charcoal and chalk. rained on so rainwater too.
This piece, I believe, looks far more powerful now that it has been smudged and torn by the sad and kind of pathetic lack of organisation, lack of any kind of control at this stage within my life. A direct reflection, I suppose.
I find gothic architecture some of the most beautiful in the world. This was originally sketched from a photograph of St Denise Cathedral somewhere in France.
I built a frame for it early in my career, which now seems to have evaporated like many of my pairs of underwear from that time.
Damn. Just lit the wrong end of my cigarette. Sigh. And HOW MUCH HAVE I CHANGED??

You’re right, the imperfections make it look so purposely created – a beautiful piece if imagery

Fantastic, Paul! Yes, you’re right – it’s a powerful piece, all the more so for all it’s been through. A lot like us really :-)
