omg that’s amazing hatch work Paul; what incredible patience. Even with the hatched background you’ve managed to bring out the fur on the back.

Ooh, hypnagogic. For some reason I’m thinking of “The Bunyip of Berkeley’s Creek”... that was a dark little book.

Paul, I used to dislike hyenas immensely, until someone very close to me had a nervous breakdown. I had this amazing dream where I could see these beautiful puppies. As I bent down to touch them I suddenly thought that they would grow into something I would dislike. I picked one up and realised the symbolic meaning within my dream. Hyenas where sent to show me that they would eat away the decay and rotten flesh. They contain highly acidic fluids, making them capable of eating and digesting their entire prey, including skin, teeth, horns and bones. I remember thinking in my dream that this was a wonderful message. I suddenly awoke and knew that my friend would be well and that there was no need to worry. The feelings and understanding I experienced that day have remained with me ever since. My friend recovered and is now very well. Seeing this wonderful work today, reminded me of this incident years ago….I thought I would share it with you. Hyenas have had a very bad press. However, in African cultures they are viewed differently. If you have time it would be good for you to do some research, I think you have a message here. Just like I had. The essence and strength of any animal gives us an understanding of who we are and how we should approach things with humility and intuitiveness. This is a wonderful drawing and by understanding our true Spirit we become whole and wise. Thank you for reminding me of this wonderful encounter….Something I am pleased to remember and share. I hope you are well? Thinking of you and sending you a healing hug!Sx
