Elphaba & Young Chistery

wow there’s alot of ink and watercolor work going around lately, been doing that myself. anyways I love what you did here. it’s a great book (my favorite by him, some I don’t like much). I especially like the monkey. Elphaba was so misunderstood and the book really makes you think about how people judge each other and how some are wrongly persecuted.

heartbreaking…really it’s just going to be in a million little pieces if you keep going like this.

Ahhhh for the love of pen and ink – your work is the kind that make one wanna start working with those tools again. I really love your style.

i actually haven’t gotten that far in the book yet, i’m not a slow reader, just trying to find time in a day to do everything (and RB just went off the air here for near 30 minutes, so i actually got some drawing done, another commissioned Dog portrait with 3 Dogs in this one), but i will certainly be glad to consider when i get to that part, would be an honor to such a wonderful book

even though your images appear dark there is still a childlike innocence about them, i think its a fascinating aspect.

I echo Blyth’s comments.. you should do some research on getting into book illustration.. because you are very good.

I like that you have included her pointy chin as in the book. The cover of my copy shows a rather rounded chin.
