From thirty five Miles:
It is a gift from the wonderful heavens above, I watched the heavens over the mighty Rio Grand in Albuquerque, New Mexico USA. The gift of rain in these high desert plains is a gift to the senses, our altitude brings us closer to the heavens, with livening the senses from the reverberation of sounds such as the patter of rain to the echos of thunder against the mountains, makes us appreciative of our location as well the Enchanted Experience ! on the way walking home from a neighbor, the early days of my new Olympus E-500, standard 14-42 mm Zuiko lens without additional lense filtration ! around 7:30 PM, the day will end such a beautiful sight. viewed as " the Pearl within the clam," This is the vision that I witnessed ! a cherished moment shared ! Please view large, it’s straight from the camera ! the smile is in there. The Sun setting at my Back !

Looks like a great storm cloud brewing.

  • Thanks Andrew ! Nice to see that your compass views include verticle and lateral, always in motion, and change the norm ! of course, still is that of moments captured as well ! Water and it’s cycle are always of interest, especially in our High Desert Country ! paul

Fabulous! Is there an alien spaceship lurking within? (I watch too many movies).
    Great capture.

  • Probably there is Gary, after all Roswell has a reputation ! We here in New Mexico are indeed very fortunate, due to the prevailing winds, even with seasonal periods, most cloud formation are just passing through, it may sound typical for most places, where as we only get 8-13 inches of rain a year, Here in Albuquerque, living on a mesa, I get to see layered views for a thirty mile distance, February and November offeres the best dramatic shots. this one a building front, and a gift ! Thanks ! Gary real life is without commercials. Paul

This certainly is a great cloud formation!! I’ve never seen a circular so perfect with it’s pearl – wow!! You’ve given it great depth. How long did it last? Some of these spectacular formations vanish s quickly as they come up.

  • Hi David ! first off it was a gift ! second as I walked about a home yard distance it changed but not greatly, then within a few minutes of getting camera and taking pictures less than five minutes TTl, of course I looked under 10X mag and was impressed with the capture. at that time had not taken a hundred pictures with the ( New ) Camera ! as for formation, although it isn’t appearent, this is nearing 20-25 miles, but because I live at higher elevation the layers run together, that is more apparent on the picture hungry skies ! as to repeat I have another taken in the Sante FE area simular in formation ! Paul Thanks !
