Sommerville Rd by Paul Vanzella

My fascination with these crates continues, as they provide the perfect landscape with their varying colours and stamped typography. Sommerville Road, Sunshine provides the perfect location and the industrial wastelands continue to consume me. I nearly wrote off my front bumper as I drove over a mound of dirt in anticipation for the perfect shot.

Paul, those industrial landscapes – they will be the death of you. But you manage to find such beauty in such strange places. Who needs trees?

Thanks guys – There was this awesome massive light out the front of the driveway entrance which lit up the shot…. which I took advantage of – I’ve also enhanced the foreground to give it that appearance as well.

You’ve done it again… THis is one of my faves. It’s got a wonderful SMARTesque painterly feel… especially in the yellow poles and the concrete foreground… The placement of the poles are perfect… The lighting is very intersting with it flooding in from the right – I think this really makes the image. The colours are brilliant. I hope there is more from this shoot!

If I had a knife and fork I’d attempt to eat this photo! It is simply delicious with the stacks of containers. Im a bit of a container fan myself, its the geometry and the mystery of what could be inside, I think. The lighting too is just so * droolworthy* Aside from a splendid photo, your editing is so intriguing…I think you should dontate your editing skills to science as one would their heart.

This has something of Jeffrey Smart but at least he can create his subjects through paint. I wish I had your eye for photography.

What a joy it is to look through your photos Paul. I wish I could talk my shooting buddy out of his seascape obsession for a week….so I could go industrial…..oh well….wondering how a crazy old woman with camera would go…. wandering around a site like this at dawn….ROFL!
