I love the slighlty futuristic appeal of this image. Although it’s just a rooftop carpark it has some amazing shapes ineracting with eachother – I played with the highlight shadows just enough to give the shapes a life of their own.
carpark concrete night red
this looks absolutely stunning on a black matt with a charcoal frame.
Definitely had that in mind, hence the white negative space around the image… great to see you had this in mind as well.
Flippin’ Sweet. Love the colours and the contrast from foreground to background – Some how all these random shapes come together to make the perfect composition.
Where do you find these places !
Do you do architectural photography professionally?
If not you should consider it.
Big thing over here is the renovation of old buildings into new modern glass filled planet friendly extensions. They pay good money for quality photographs like this one.
James, these places are all around me – and all of a sudden they sit up and say “frame me if you can – capture what you see and share it with someone!” I love that moment when you take an image in time and space and re-present it as you saw it, and hope other people see the aethetic value in it, no matter the subject matter.
I love this… it looks amazing.Especially the colours. Beautiful work Paul.
The composition and palette have a wonderful painterly quality – like Jeffrey Smart’s work. Well done, one of my favorites!
Paul, I see landscapes like that, but my work in the city has never been strong. I don’t know why !
Hmmm, strangeness….I commented on this image last night, but I don’t see my comment anywhere….I said something along the lines of …." I knew the instance I saw this image in the thumbnails that it belonged to you. It that fabulous thing you do with combining elegance and dynamics…." <—-Yeah, that was pretty much it:)
