I love the simpsons gag here, but I just also love this whole series of warm toned retro images… They make me think of 1940s US nuclear tests or something.
Michael – This shot was taken at Loy Yang, Victoria – about 15 minutes drive from Morwell…. which offers an endless industrial backdrop to rural Victoria. It’s amazing and alluring for me…
there must be some reason I find these industrial landscapes so beautiful. The gold on those stacks always manages to take on a new colour in every shot I see.
great stuff again here….. i love the use of rhythm in your photos….. and the scale of the plant life against the belching backdrop of the power station… a powerful image
Your work is so enthralling! I absolutely love it…your treatment of industrial scenes really highlights the surreal atmosphere inherent in such places. I passed by Loy Yang for the first time over Easter (nearly crashed my car numerous times!), and this is just such a great image of it – looking right into guts of that massive machine. Great!!!
WOW!! this is pretty amazing.. the size of that text on the concrete tower is wild.. i love massiv stuff like this.. makes me feel like a little mutant bug.. just the way i want to feel..
I had to leave the room, and left the large version of this on my screen….as I walked back in the impact of the beaut golden tones was even more evident. Mind you, a close study of this was what I was doing before leaving the room, and the thing that drew my eyes and kept them was the horizontal orange bar on the vertical near the centre of the image. I love that there’s so much to see, and yet your work never seems over busy. This is just awesome, Paul!
Mel – you are such a generous commentating – thank you so much for your feedback… I’m so lovin’ what you are doing at the moment… your processing is top notch as are all your images, really enjoying them. Thanks again!
Wow, only just found this! Thanks Paul, but I have to say the same about you, generous with comments to a fault! I’m appreciative of the help and encouragement you’ve given me, plus the fact that your work helped me to stop and ponder, to study more closely all the elements that make up your shots. It’s given me a greater appreciation of your work, and the work of many others, where before I always worked on first impressions only. You guys here have really helped me grow, and I’m loving my time here!! I still love this shot…..so when Nick gives up dawn shoots, this is where I’ll be heading…..Industrial! lol!
thank you so much – love this kinda landscape in our world – so aesthetic to me…. everytime i visit my wife’s parents I go to this place all the time… : )

I like your gallery, some of these images you have here look like scenes from sci-fi movies, your vision as a designer is certainly apparent in your work.
Another awesome shot Paul – such a futuristic/ alternate reality to feel to your industrial landscapes. Perfect balanced and uncluttered. The towers around the 7G chimmney have a look of the launch towers for the Apollo rockets…. maybe the whole place is a secret rocket base….. h’mmmm?!

Outstanding Paul … love the mood you’ve created
