those trees are incredible…. love the twisted organic elements over the strong graphic lines of the windows and buildings behind….. i’m really drawn to the horizontal fleck of bright green on the bark of the right foreground tree….... the motion of the woman is a nice counterpoint to the stillness in the rest of the image…..

Just Perfect that red hat makes the whole photo for me. If you take that person out of the photo it doesn’t work I don’t think. This is awesome Paul. Your perspective is mind blowing.
Love those hedges in the foreground

  • Vasile Stan

    Vasile Stan

This composition is remarkable as it creates a certain atmosphere without showing even one single element in its entirety and without leaving the impression that any of its elements needs to be shown more of.
A good lesson to be learned.

  • Martin Derksema

Love the geometry in this picture. The emptyness adds a lot of emotional value. The small figure with the beautiful red hat gives a slight feel of lonelyness to the image. Very solid image, standing like a rock.

Fantastic image. Wonderful composition and color treatment. The person walking down the stairs makes this image alive and gives it the dynamics it has. The red hat serves as a perfect focal point and a marker for the rest of the image. The contrast between the objects, earth tones and stillness of the elements and the moving living person is fantastic. A well done image that is now in my faves.

  • Gerijuliaj

    Gerijuliaj

Love the composition and colours in this shot. The softness of the light gives it a beautiful serene feel and the woman in the red hat adds just the right amount of ‘tension’ to the image.

I agree with others: the figure adds substantially to this image. It gives the viewer something to attach to in the photo. The treatment as always is awesome (I must get me one of those Paul Vanzella colour maps!) and the composition precise. Your urban work is simply stunning, Paul. Keep it coming!!!

The red hat grabs my attention and makes me look closely at the photo. What strikes me is how simple the composition is, yet detail whereever you look – a clever combination to pull off and perhaps the best representation of modern cities.

restate: a breaking away from conformity. the white markings on the tree symbolic of the mediocrity.. the swiftness and passion of one breaks free.
