Modern Cityscape
carefully planted tress, trimmed hedges and angular stone staircase just immediately captured my senses… and makes this Brusells scene a modern day cityscape for me…

those trees are incredible…. love the twisted organic elements over the strong graphic lines of the windows and buildings behind….. i’m really drawn to the horizontal fleck of bright green on the bark of the right foreground tree….... the motion of the woman is a nice counterpoint to the stillness in the rest of the image…..
BYRON
Nice, The lady is what makes the shot.
Mel Brackstone
What an amazing group of elements, you’ve framed them so expertly! Love the strength of those trees backed up by the fabulous building with its lines and angles. The human is perfectly placed!
Masterful work Mr V!

Paul, I like the frame of this shot, with the trees and the way the stairs jut in to the shot.
Jeff Burns
Just Perfect that red hat makes the whole photo for me. If you take that person out of the photo it doesn’t work I don’t think. This is awesome Paul. Your perspective is mind blowing.
Love those hedges in the foreground
Vasile Stan
This composition is remarkable as it creates a certain atmosphere without showing even one single element in its entirety and without leaving the impression that any of its elements needs to be shown more of.
A good lesson to be learned.
Antanas
Great composition, well done
Heather Hartkamp
Everything works in this image – especially the muted colours with the speck of red.
Andrew Bosman
Lots of amazing angles at play here Paul and the person walking through the image makes you explore it further. Nice work.
Martin Derksema
Love the geometry in this picture. The emptyness adds a lot of emotional value. The small figure with the beautiful red hat gives a slight feel of lonelyness to the image. Very solid image, standing like a rock.
carlala00
fabulous, perfect colours (the red of the hat and the whites on the trees) and composition together!

Cool. Very. You know the rest.

i love all these subtle tones and colours and yet the red hat, small and conspicuous standing out adds a twist – the hurrying to god knows where amonst the landscape – just perfect.
Peter Fletcher
Amazing how you’ve captured an ordinary scene and made it so interesting to look at. Love the red hat
zoe trap

Eyal Nahmias
Fantastic image. Wonderful composition and color treatment. The person walking down the stairs makes this image alive and gives it the dynamics it has. The red hat serves as a perfect focal point and a marker for the rest of the image. The contrast between the objects, earth tones and stillness of the elements and the moving living person is fantastic. A well done image that is now in my faves.
Gerijuliaj
Love the composition and colours in this shot. The softness of the light gives it a beautiful serene feel and the woman in the red hat adds just the right amount of ‘tension’ to the image.
Chloe Flathers
Love the composition of this. I also love the hint of red on the ladys hat. Fabulous image Paul!
Murray Swift
Everyone above has said everything for me about this and pretty much all your work. A great gallery for anyone who is really serious about photography.

wonderful and great angles
David Barnes
I agree with others: the figure adds substantially to this image. It gives the viewer something to attach to in the photo. The treatment as always is awesome (I must get me one of those Paul Vanzella colour maps!) and the composition precise. Your urban work is simply stunning, Paul. Keep it coming!!!
coffeebean
Fantastic capture and yes the figure with that neat red hat is perfect.

The red hat grabs my attention and makes me look closely at the photo. What strikes me is how simple the composition is, yet detail whereever you look – a clever combination to pull off and perhaps the best representation of modern cities.
paulywog1561
What I like about this shot is the way the trees and hedge are framed in, the tones of brown to light grey, and than that red hat..great job!
H M Bascom
Excellent red hat! Those neatly squared hedges are a great compliment to the angular steps.
~ Selle
The red hat makes this picure for me. I find it intriguing in an otherwise muted image
Zaldy Infante
intensity in stillness! i love this image

restate: a breaking away from conformity. the white markings on the tree symbolic of the mediocrity.. the swiftness and passion of one breaks free.
