Brussels Gardener

Brussels Gardener by Paul Vanzella

Brussels Gardener

They just love their hedges in Belgium… Perfectly manicured hedges. I managed to capture this lone gardener on his way through the maze with classic stone wall buildings as his backdrop.

Paul the treatment you have given this image makes everything seem insignificant except for the gardener and his hedges. And that is no mean feat considering the magnificent architecture that forms this backdrop.

~Geoffrey Chaucer – The Canterbury Tales

you made the bg look like a massive backdrop for grand opera. the lone gardener adds poignancy. you display it all here, brother – keen eye, deft touch, storyteller’s gift, singular treatment, all wrapped up in wit and empathy. bravo!

Lovely dreamy romantic shot Paul due to your deft hand at producing such soft colours and tones. (just catching up on your work – glad to see you have seen much to inspire). The ‘poor’ gardener certainly has his work cut out (excuse the pun) with all those topiary bushes! Looks wonderful.

This must be from the back of the king’s palace looking up towards Place Royale… I’ve been in Brussels 41 years and haqve never actually seen this wonderful view, and your processing of it makes me appreciate the hedges which I’d never noticed either. Maybe you should come back and give me a guided tour!! Nice work, Paul!
