Paesaggio Industriale
translation: Industrial Landcsape
To me this is just what I like about the Italian landscape, found this area tucked away off a local highway… I basically followed the spaceship like monolith, and it was all there in front of me… red shipping container and all… I’m just really fascinated by this… some may find boring I find it intriguing.

The red really anchors anotherwise very bare picture. Godd work, and a bit of a change of style!

This is in no way boring, reminds me of a scene from the X Files. Love the gorgeous soft tones. Well spotted.

Really looks like a scene from a sci-fi..colour harmony is awesome..what a very different view of Italy..fantastic!
Rhana Griffin, 9 months ago
Paul this is so far from boring you may as well be talking the distance from Earth to Pluto! Love the geometric shapes set against rugged mountain beauty. The earth tones in the foreground really highlight the red in the shipping container and that golden light is to die for!
Paul Tupman, 9 months ago
Terrific find Paul.. what an awesome landscape with such unusual structures. The colouring and your technique in processing reminds me of old 60s style illustrations of how things might be in the future when we have settle on Mars.. and of course that would have been the year 2000! Love the angle on this too.. looks like you have stumbled on something hidden away..
Linda Syms, 9 months ago
It makes me stop and look to see whats in the distance, love the red it realy stands out against the earth.
John Hurle, 9 months ago

What a find, glad you followed your instincts!!
So much can be visualized and imagined about what goes on here, this is a movie scene waiting for a script!!
Amazing work mate!

That’s a breathtaking shot Paul, congratulations. The scope of the landscape is impressive, it has the impression of a vast scope. And that Italian light is amazing. It paints everything with an intriguing local colour that reminds me of a tone poem. Anyway, enough bullshit from me, I love it.
Helen McLean, 9 months ago
It looks so futuristic, it reminds me of the landscape in Starship Troopers!!!

Like a Thunderbirds set.

Certainly is intriguing Paul, another classic Vanzella moment… love the little red and white striped pole too which balances out the container well… great atmospheric perspective here too… another job well done, love it!
Juilee Pryor, 9 months ago
oh this is beautiful. classic vanzella imagery. wonderful and there is something about your sense of colour and placement. Subtle and elegant and its so glad to see you back on form kicking it again. I just love this. Its a bit like BySilent’s work. If you haven’t seen any of his utterly incredible works then look him up. He moderates the DaDaland group. Very similar sensibitily.

I have always loved this kinf of photo.
and what I like so much in Italy (country so close to my city) is the ability of the Italian
in bridges and highway constructions, especially in mountain areas as ours .

what I like about it (sorry for not reading all the comments but you get too many) is how it relates to Italian modernism. So proud, industrious and yet still relating to the handmade… the reason why italy is far behind in ‘technology’ but far ahead in hand mand engineering.

Did this really exist? It looks make believe…Well done

Bruce Watson, 9 months ago
Thunderbirds or Lost in Space perhaps…but with a touch of Antonioni’s ‘Zabriske Point’ as well (I’m half imagining that tower to explode!). It truly is an intriguing vista well captured.

Jessica Tremp, 9 months ago
that red just pops right out at you…fantastic colour combination
magicman, 8 months ago
there’s a little discord between the mountains/dirt and the buildings which if it was absent would render the image not as nearly interesting. two worlds collide.
Helen Bascom, 8 months ago
Very cool lighting. It has an old sci – fi movie feel too it. Love the touch of red.
Darren Burdell, 8 months ago
Really like this, I agree with the Thunderbirds comments, the cheques on the monolith and the biblical light on the hills make it for me.
