Essence of Beauty

Essence of Beauty

Essence of Beauty is about real beauty, no hair or make up…. showing the power of woman to transcend and push through any environment where all you see is real beauty all around you (well to me, anyway).

Traveled far and wide to capture this image, and thank you to the very giving and beautiful RavenSoul for allowing me to capture her wonderful soul. Loved my time in Oklahoma!

Beautiful painterly qualities – the light on her shoulder, his and leg gives a lovely flow to the image. Somehow the silvery white of the scarf, in its intensity, accentuates the gentle tones of her skin i reckon!

    The Flames Of Summer

    A sweet breath of Jasmine,
wafts into our dark cooling room.
While my river of dreams still hunger,
well into the long shadows spent gazing.

    Meditating thickly upon your reflection,
and of the flames of summer.

    Rigorous groping high,
the fires of our shared August
    will no lest distinguish come the wet seasons;
that promise to blanket our richly created chance.

I, in my dreams, weep copiously,
    for the proverbial chance to
    remember you again.
    This image of tranquil essence
    must stave off my need
to fly into your depths again….

  • Paul Vanzellafounder replied

  • clarkey

    clarkey

I think it’s all pretty much been said, Paul, except I was thinking this reminded me of Ruben more than Remembrandt although I can’t say why! Vonne’s skin looks golden in that light, and he pose is reserved yet trusting, she is relaxed. Her expression is calm and full of grace. Your use of limited light gives just a suggestion of the background, and the white fabric glows, giving a small emphasis to Vonne’s knees . A magnificent classic.

  • Paul Vanzellafounder replied

love your words here so much… bug thank you… love ambient light!

  • deepbluwater

    deepbluwater

What an absolutely stunning capture Paul! Vonne’s graceful femininity shines through in every way. Simply gorgeous timeless painterly quality & light…

  • Bruce Watson

    Bruce Watson

A very European painterly feel to this Paul. I particularly like the almost glowing quality of the white fabric – and the way that the fleshtones mediate this glow and the contrasting blackness through the tonal range.

  • Paul Vanzellafounder replied

love what you notice bruce…. I owe it all to the wonderful subject matter and location.. and all ambient light, too… it was also raining heavily outside to paint the picture!

  • Wayne Cook

    Wayne Cook

Paul, I’m going to leave you with another poem, because the image inspired me, like few others. As I read through the comments of your fans, I could simply echo them, but my mind went another direction….

    Eve

The angels gathered round the drafting table.
God sat there, rather hunched over, bits of wood,
Lying, scattered in front of the pencil tray,
Frowning and still, He finally swiveled in the high seat,
Stepped down and strode to a beautiful Ramirez Classical guitar.
A hush fell over the room of the east wing of the Grand Palace,
He picked the instrument up reverently, sat in a simple, straight chair,
Began to pick the sweet notes. First the melody, then the chords.
From nowhere came the Palace filling harmony of an orchestra, the voice of a woman, The first time Heaven had ever heard Eve sing…..
Chord after sweet chord, the excruciatingly beautiful melody.
Angels had never wept in Heaven before….this afternoon,
    The crowd of wings trembled,
Gentle and firm faces streamed tears, that would not stop,
As each note radiated from the instruments.
More and more Heavenly beings gathered in the space,
Hovering now over the Ancient of Days, as He also,
Wept as He played. The room filling with luxurious sound,
    His heart was creating Woman.
    His mind, molding hers,
    His soul forming hers,
    Her body, now divine.
But then, He did a funny thing,
    He gave……His heart,
