Wow Paul what an amazing surreal image. So much to ponder in this image. I love the narrative quality. I know that I will visit this image again. Powerful, provocative work for both the mind and the heart. Anthea
Omigod, like a repressed memory come to life!! Or an alternate reality… Or a still from a rediscovered art house film… WoW Paul!! I keep going back to look again and again. What an absolutely fascinating dynamic between the two characters and such attitude in their poses. LOVE the setting and treatment as well… just perfect! Still & always blowing my mind Paul!! thank you for that ;)) I already want to see more of this story, much more…
the proverbial generational/cultural gap… so close but worlds apart.. never really seeing the true faces of one another…...... brilliant work my friend…..... your stories always leave me thinking and wanting more….......b
This is bizar and creepy, I’m wondering wich story is behind this… An old schoolplace , the perfect hidingplace for these two strange characters, they seem to just have jacked this car… Your lighting comes trough the image, even when it is raining… Well done Paul ! hugs, anna
Love her impatience and his dorky stance…....... Classic Paul, excellent reflections too and the brickwork has come up a treat… Her blue eyeshadow brings back memories, those masks rock….
Oh my god. I like this for various reasons – even though the faces are a bit scary! The texture is great, the colour, the location, the wet weather. Very creative!
yes, i too must jump on the disturbing bandwagon and say there is something twisted about this. i think it comes down to which side of the fence you sit in reference to clowns. either they haunt your dreams, or delight the child within. anyway, top shelf image. cheers.
there is a photographer by the name of Ofer Wolberger who created a series of a doll like character by using his girlfriend, very surreal. Your work though adds a new dimension, it creates this incredible narrative which I find fascinating. Well done PV you never cease to amaze me with your creativity.
Always enjoy the masks in your work.. but this time…living in the suburbs of New York… I feel like I know this family.! Are they from Westchester by any chance?..hehe. :) – I love this Paul… It makes me think of the societal pressures and false faces that we come into contact with on a daily basis… all warped intentions and greed.
Do we hide under masks Paul to conceal our true self.?.......Maybe sometimes masks hide our inner desires and fears until one day we bravely remove them free from judgement and allow the world to see us as we see ourselves…......Feels like a edgy tension in this work and as always any work you are involved with is produced with great attention to the conceptual elements….. Funny but the building and car park look familiar to me….
as long as the word ‘love’ is in there… yes, i can’t put my finger on it either…. and I invented this… sometimes it’s just a necessity to bring what’s in the back of your mind, just like a long lost slide in a slide projector, to the front – and show the world what it is…
discomfort, disquiet, disconnection…discovery…more questions than answers in this one for me..man, this piece just screams Australian post-modernist art… Interesting and compelling work Paul!
