So this is the thing I like about your work Paul … I looked at a train line on Friday and saw it from a fresh perspective … I noticed the symmetry of the track, the hard angles of the station … how easy it is to overlook the obvious and the everyday.
Im loving your industrial landscape shots Paul. I think i must live near you because i see many of these scenes myself each day- its great to see them through your eyes! Thankyou for the comments on my work too…it means a lot to get such support when you are starting out!
Some people mistake ‘everyday’ subject matter as uninteresting or worse ‘banal’...people see and pass everyday environments without really looking hard. Line, tone, concrete, texture, and sky… all conspire to make this a lovely study Paul. Very ‘Smart’...
And what do you think when you shoot these stark, geometric images, I wonder? “THIS IS PERFECTION. I MUST CAPTURE THIS…” Because, Paul; this IS perfection, and you did bring it home. Jesus Christ, you are so talented.

Great treatment and cropping… It’s as if the 3 poles were put there for this photograph and have no other use… (love the plant detail on the right)

.these shots from highpoint, the sky is surreal when did you shoot them?
Paul Vanzella
Hi Stuart – Shot this in the middle of the day, increased the mid-tones to achieve that flat Jeffrey Smart effect… of course waited for no cars…

This is great…It reminds me of a photo I took at Westfield, southland….I think I will upload it:)

I have to agree with everyone here, especially Peter. You’ve made me “see” things I would have overlooked before. Thank you!!

I like it, very Jeffrey Smart in style who is one of my fav artists. To be able to show such beauty in concrete is not easy task.
