Perpetualism

Paul Vanzella

Perpetualism

In life we are either dominant or submissive, from person to person or even country to country – this will never change as the human condition functions within these parameters.

Life gives us choices. Many live between the planes of master of our human domains, and being a slave to the mundane elements of work, health, relationships, have to’s and survival.

When we expand beyond the limitations we set, we can feel the true sense of creative fluidity.

I decide where I go, where my thoughts, energies and intentions go. I’m on a perpetual learning curve of creative discovery.

Perpetual: continuing or enduring forever
ism: a theory, system or practice

A perefect way to express how you approach your creative journey Paul. Pushing the boundaries, stepping outside the box, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy. Without your words this image could be construed as so much less than it is meant to be. The combination of the two however, provide a wonderful glimpse inside an artists mind. Thankyou.

Another great photo Paul – i do love the soft silvery tones on the skin and the moody lighting. Your writing is very thought provoking. I do believe we are all capable of being both at different times in our life. I agree with you about the limitations we set holding us back from creative expansion. I freed myself from the rat race a short while ago and slowly but surely the restraints are coming off and allowing my dormant creativity to re-emerge. Phew!

Hi Paul, yet another “outside the square” image from you! Do you have any limits?! Here’s a few words / themes this image inspires in me: silver, love, desire, graphic, The Matrix, blue, Twlight Zone, vintage, power, 2010, skin, attitude, cold, luxury.

It’s just remarkable work. Thanks for showing it off.

Paul, I have to say I didn’t really get at first that the models are one and the same, so it wasn’t till this dawned on me that I could really appreciate your meaning here. It’s like the kneeling persona is looking up to the dominant version of herself, ruefull thinking ‘this is who I need to be… my submissiveness is holding me back’. Your treatment of the image supports this as it has an illustrative feel and so would be less likely to appeal to an S&M freak. Very tasteful illustration of your thought-provoking narrative. Yet another Vanzella masterpiece!

Another Vanzella masterpeice. For me, it’s the way that shiny corset really contrasts with the muted tones. The curves and skintones remind me of old Frank Frazetta paintings. This has your trademark ‘dreaminess’ to it Paul. Fantastic.

    Paul,
Your words so perfectly describe what S&M is all about – the release of power, or gaining of it, to substantiate, negate, or enhance what we all endure in OUR REAL LIVES. This portrait is beautifully done, of course, as you are a loving lovemaker to all your photos…..the colors and light are subliminally, as well as visually, stunning.
The two girls are gorgeous, and a dog leash never looked more like something one wears with absolute pride. You know me – I am gonna dig a shot like this, but moreover – what you write, having DONE this shot, speaks more and more about YOU…thank you for letting us in. Your efforts are well received, admired, and dare I say, are the stuff of inspiration, emulation and perhaps even, subtle copying – the sincerest form of flattery. This shot is about the appeasement of desire, and I am loving it.
    SPOT ON.

wow stateofundress, so glad the concept (and image) resonates – I can hear the excitement in your voice…. sensational! Yes, no boundaries of thought and build on that…! Go for it… really love where your work has started from (we seem to think alike) – can’t wait for more!
