dang, that’s an unbelieveably beautiful machine, looks like something out of a comic, and that’s to say nothing of the shot which is sublime, the colours, the shadow lines, fine work sir, fine work.

A beast if i ever saw one. Pure tank.

The car is slick, but I’m more impressed by the comic-book lighting on the front-end that you’ve managed. The diagonal shadow from the air-con unit on the wall along with the perspective of the car gives great DOF to the whole image.

Wow, that’s such a cool car and you’ve captured the image perfectly…I expect to see some comic book suits with violin cases lurking in the background;)

Thanks for the great comments, – driving back to La on the 101 South, I actually caught up with the chopped Mercury and managed to film it as it sped down the highway – Now that was a surreal visual – seeing it in motion on a vast highway! I’m planning to visit the owner’s workshop next year – as he lives in Ventura, just 2 hours north of LA!

I hate to comment on cars when looking at car pics but this really is a stunning piece of work. I’d love to have seen it in bare metal.

I`ve read up on this beast in a publication i frequently buy (O`L skool rods)
and didn`t think much of it…but to look at it now, the way you have captured it is giving me chills…

It looks totaly bad-ass, gangster, futuristic, alien, Gotham City…..

The back-drop the shadows, theres is nothing that could make me love this image more than i do already…..Kudos Paul….diamond encrusted Kudos….

oh wow… I love that car. Wish I had one like that. I agree with what camerajuice said above… This is one of the photos in my top 5 or so that I would consider purchasing if I can ever convince myself to spend money for a photo even though I could hang up my own work too ;)

Hey Paul, a friend spotted a bright yellow one at Brisbane airport a couple of days ago.
Chopped top and lowered, left hand drive…hope to see it cruising around the Coast soon;)

Paul, it’s phat, I love it! Hot rods and their owners make for such interesting shots. I’m in the process of organising some hot rod pics with a local crew in Brisbane. Looking forward to sharing those pics once I am done.

I do hope this beast had air bag suspension to raise it over rougher roads!

I find a strange sense of scale to this – like the car and building are models lit by a table lamp. To me, it has a kind of surreal touch. I like it.
