The President's Eleven (One of)
You’ll notice in the background there are these pewter mugs hanging proudly, they belong to the President’s Eleven, which is a special group of players who are allowed to have free beer on Saturday nights in the clubrooms after a game… it’s a special club – I’m not that good at cricket yet to join… maybe one day!

Love the story behind this. This has such a great light and processing, very smooth.
Elizabeth Burton
One of my favorites of yours.
Lisa Jewell
Paul, tis difficult to focus on those pewter mugs, when there is a thigh of heaven in my face…
I like the male models pose, looking away from the female model….the light upon his face is ethereal.
Gorgeous work.
PS – Join the club
Michael Alesich
I’m not sure what to take of the mans’ expression, is he looking away wistfully, concentrating on a game, or averting his eyes, each seems to have merit.
Beautiful shot Paul, You have a certain style and specific use of tone that is really owned by yourself.
Mel Brackstone
This is in your face, but the story it tells is marvellous! The beer bottle and the glow on his face stand out for me.
rock
Sensational Paul, a rewal winner!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mark German
Really stunning, Paul. Lighting is exceptional, as is composition and treatment.
Antanas
Perfect composition
Peter Hammer
This is yet another of your great images Paul. The toning and smoothness of the image are superb. I like the ambiguity it poses too with the man looking away from the obvious attraction in front of him. Why? What is he looking at? The pewter mugs are really largely irrelevant to the image although they do add to the background a bit.
lawrencew
great composition..
Heather Rivet...
well done
Jake Easley
Looks like they get a lot of “special” things. Nice work here, Paul
Mien

Steve Axford
Good to see that he can stay focused on the cricket! Must have been tough though.

Joan Smart
BEAUTIFUL BUT STILL MANLY ! BEST OF BOTH WORLDS..GRAND JOB!! joan
Bruce Watson
Very arresting smooth shapes in the right foreground Paul. They add very much to the mood of the work, but I’m not sure why. Please pardon my naivete.
cleanartdirtyart
nice
Jason Moses
Hell, yeah! Cricket? What cricket? Excellent expression and sexy, stockinged legs. I wouldn’t have noticed the mugs for several minutes if you hadn’t pointed out.
Love how your stuff has a sheen to it. Many of your pics have a Jeffrey Smart kind of surreal nature. I used to love blue light, but people have convinced me to head the other way over the past few years. Photos like this sway me back =)
Heather Loster
great job on this. love the story.
Craig Goldsmith
Fantastic styling Paul, love the tones and colour pallet you’ve chosen.
Holly Werner

xkc
Andrew Walker
a football manager once said that sport is way more important than life an death i guess this chap feels the same way about it… mind you this is cricket we are talking about so i guess that it comes down to a pretty poor crop on pauls part from showing what he’s looking at….
streaker, public schoolboy mooning players and fans from a bi-plane or indian businessman writing cheque to throw the game.
As we can plainly see Jo no clothes yet again felt missed out to not be the focus of this shot so at the last minute (just as paul said say cheeese) she threw herself onto the table.
the result… pure chaos!
Jarko
Brilliant!
Julie Langford
Love this one Paul – superb lighting and the pewter tankards, simply brilliant.
Mugsy

Lindsay Blamey
Superb! Love the composition and the lighting… The mood is really enhanced by the desaturated colour. As always the Vanzella effect makes it extra-outstanding!!

Effective dodge and burn here Paul, great work !
Jeff Burns
OH man this is incredible. Absolutely amazing Paul Beautiful!
WitheringMoon
Always original, always interesting – another fabulous job – composition perfect!
Aaron .
Wonderful again Paul. When are you going to post a crap picture for a change ? It seems you have moved away from your earlier, brighter tones in this one but retained that precise, selectively blurred element to this, which for me, is a real signature of your work. You have, however really maintained the sharpness on the elements of the image that matter – the highlights in the blokes hair and face and the highlights in the lingerie really contrast to the muted tones.
Dont know what this guy has to be miffed about – a pair of legs like that AND free beer ? Jeez !
marieancolie
A brilliant work ! and sensational colours
hillsrain
The story is good. The picture even better. Another corker of an image.
Catalin Soare
Old style, exquisite work!
Suzanne German
Nice shot Paul – the shimmering effect really sparkles it all up!
gordontant
Very nice photo Paul, the colours and tones are great, and for some reason your eyes are drawn to the top of the stockings…
billyboy
Massive Paul… hey, the guy must be a cricketer to stay so cool under seduction like that! Love the mood of your latest two… hope there’s more on the way. You’re totally fired up!!
FlickerLightSt...
Very nicely composed capture! Wonderful work! I love the blue tones!

Paul Vanzella
wow and wow again – thank you for your awesome insightful comments… special mention to Mosesdesigns and of course Andrew Walker who makes every Jo O’brien experience worth taking…. just to hear his comments… Brilliant!
Paul Tupman
Brilliant! I know how the guy feels.. when your friends line up drinks at the bar and you’re just not interested.. This is fantastic work Paul.. I love the whole concept behind this and the detail and treatment are stunning.. Great work!
Rhana Griffin
I would love to know what headspace this guy is in. Here he has it all laid out on a platter before him and yet… he looks away, is more focussed inwards. Or is he waiting for someone to walk through the door I imagine off the edge of the photo?
Love this Paul… it has made me think. AND made me want to crawl in there and see exactly what he is looking at.
Halcyon007
Looks like enough to keep you in the nets for a while.
A truly stunning image
Mark Peterson
Love the composition and lighting, excellent work!
stephen jones
Sensational great fab. just wow.
pmistric
Nice image. Looks filmic.
Mariette/Flowi...
Very well done. Love the color, the white of the shirt, shoes and stockings, compositions stunning.
Enrico Bettesw...
Paul this is fantastic!!! I am loving your ability to put together a strong series of images… The lighting is impeccable and the composition is just superb! I like the way his head and the leg is almost at the same angle as the mugs in the background which creates a dynamic element in an otherwise static scene… again I like the story behind your images it gives them so much more substance and meaning for their existence… Paul you do it with class and you do it blody well!
dreadfulbride
what wall? mugs…?... I dont see any mugs.
BySilent
Wonderful work
Emma Anderson

Michelle Avery

Per E. Gunnarsen

DawsonImages
sexy yet elegantly indiffernt
Jo O'Brien
The narrative in this is brilliant. His facial expression just makes this shot andI love how you have used light to draw us into the scene. This could be anywhere and that only adds to what we can imagine.
Stefan Trenker
stunning work! three eyecatchers involved – the lady, the guy and the mugs
cool work
Adriana Glackin
I wouldn’t bother with the cricket thing – just keep these photos coming : )
Jamie Lee
Fantastic work, the expression on the man really creates a sense of wonder.
Deon de Waal
i’m guessing the cricket played at this club is not that good owing to distractions.
The lighting in this shot is really amazing.
John Segon-Fis...
An excellent composition but such a sad and tragic story about the human condition. Anyway, I connect.
HaRaKiRi
Wow
Kurt Tutschek
great composition – and i really like the muted colors.
Peter Davidson

Such an evocative shot! The toning is very subtle and luminous! Lots of stories inherent in this image!
wolfllink
Wonderful treatments This is excelent!
Michael J Armijo
Suprised he’s not in AWE by the distraction of those sexy legs. Ha….perhaps he is a sex-addict and is trying NOT to notice. (Free Beer…Free Sex…)...thought provoking image. GREAT! :)
Victoria Rusnac
hahaha….I love that he is looking away
Angelique Brunas
woot so sexy!
ozczecho
Beautfully composed and executed shot….great tension.
Sonic
Sure a guy would be looking away from those legs…...a fantasy shot? LOL
Great work
Franklin Lindsey
Nicely done and very creative, especially the shimmering, shine parts as the “Gentlemen” coolly looks distracted…LOL
Matt Roberts
Great image. Nice comp.
Melissa Carroll
i like how his attention isn’t to her.
this is very cool with the lighting and everything
Melissa Vowell
I’m sure i’ve said this before somewhere in the 300, 000 comments on this piece, but I absolutely love it. I was thinking about it today and had to coem find it.

t1nyskert
you’ve captured the “seedy” yet erotic parts of this image babe….top class
Angel Jesús Pé...
how you retouch that style of photographs, what photo editor have you use, Your work is incredible
Gratziela Gal
He looks like a man who just got rid of his wife…however, he can’t take her out of his head, therefore he can’t enjoy these little pleasures of life…lol, i’m totally out of line here…this photo equals luxury to me for some particular reason. I don’t know anything about the club you talked about in your description, but it surely looks select…you can’t get in if you don’t have class, right??? (-:
Clayton Barton
The rendering is so soft. It really brings out the femininity of this beautiful piece of work.
L K Southward
very interesting work, well done
dehk
Looks like a scene in a mob movie , it just reminds me of that :D great shot as usual!
Naylor
Very erotic and sensual shot !!! I LOVE her stockings :)
Seems he looks away to gain control of the situation… he is turned on but doesn’t want her to feel she has that power over him… make her wait is almost what I see in his eyes. Wonderful shot !!!
Rasendyll
Brilliant image, really makes you imagine a story
Graham Jones
I’ve looked at this image a number of times Paul but still cannot put my finger on what makes it such a standout. Style I guess but it’s so unique. Very classy work.
rogala888
wow great capture – could at this moment he thinks of his life – HIS WIFE ?
tarsel

Excellent work!!!

Another shot of yours with such beautiful composition. The soft look really gives it that ‘memorable’ feel. As though we have all been here at some point or another.
Maxoperandi
Hi Paul…Love the steely tones in this one…When I first read the title…I read in my mind “Oceans Eleven” as in the film and saw Brad Pitt in a bar in Las Vegas…if this was the case then he would have been looking at Julia Roberts…which would have definately distracted him from the hotty on the bar. Isn’t it great when an image of yours does all this to someone!!!
juliettevenus
Really really great work Paul. Love everything about it. Very classic and sexy.
Kristen Caldwell
BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!! oh how i love this!!! and here’s to hoping you will be in the club one day! cheers!
