Karin Taylor
i just find it fascinating
it keeps me coming back time and again
i can’t put it away, i can’t put it down, there’s something about it
symbols everywhere…the round exercise balls say so much….the glitz reads like a 12 year olds idea of glamour, yet as grown ups we see the awfulness of too much makeup and glitter, crowding out the loveliness of the natural shapes and lines …. it’s really rather refreshing not to feel naughty for indulging in a donut sometimes :)
Jaeda DeWalt
Paul,
This creation is . . .

witty, brilliant, hysterical and quirky fantastic!
I love the pink, flapper-style dress and shiny pastel-colored fitballs – it’s all in the details ;)
And for some strange reason it reminds me of Bobs Big Boy LOL
Mohsen Bayramn...
Amazing creativity… this is simply superb!
bodymechanic
it seems like an erieingly(if that’s a word) grotesque metaphor for all the girls out there that bust their arses to look beautiful.

What a fantasitc commentary on how our percieved notions aof perfectiona are so warped… In general the western world has things so skewed wjhen it comes to health and the idea of beauty… we really do ruin our young girls especially by buying into it all! Great Job Paul! proud to know you! xo

This is simply WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY beyond a photo. This crosses Pop Art with surrealist/ManRay imagery, with Dian Arbus, all in vivid color…...WOW. This is Dr. Seuss on LSD, and Jack KeruaC, DREAMING. fANTASTIC, OFF, BEAUTIFUL, GORGEOUSLY COMPOSED…my head is filled, like a jelly donut…...it is saccharin AND tart….......Eat Up, I say, and kuddos to Siena, the model!
Lisa Jewell
I love the way you use symbology….the upside down fan ties this all together for me….
raintina

KiwiAna
I agree! Strange and compelling like icing on your nose
Lisa Defazio
Ok this to me is a statement on how the new ideal is the shape of a pre adolescent child, the masks women wear and the denial and resulting strain/pain it puts on the person buying into it.
Most Clever. Compelling image.
stupidland

dominiquelandau
nice..:))))
Bobby Deal
Great piece of social conceptual art. The contrast of location and model and the marriage of tones between the fitness balls and the models make up / the walls and the dress all comes together into a well thought out and executed image.
deannedaffy

Trueman

wow – what a compliment, thank you… Siena really rose to the task here.. so proud of her!
Ted Byrne
Darwin argued that there are two evolutionary drives: survival selection and sex selection. Eating is essential to survival…. and we can’t do enough survival stuff, right. But cosmetics whether painted, worn, or worked and sweated to create a crushing internal corset sure do help that sex selection drive. And here, Paul, you’ve slammed them together.
There’s a word for when instincts clash… it’s “conundrum”.
Paul Vanzella
replied
wow – thanks for the words Ted, such a pleasure to read…. love the way you validate my images! Thank you so much!
Sharon Mau
The face just knocks me right out! :)))
